The unseen health risk | Radon causes lung cancer
Radon is a naturally occurring gas. High levels indoors, in homes, and in workplaces can present health risks. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Radon is estimated to cause 3-14 % of lung cancer, depending on levels of radon and smoking prevalence.

The Environmental Protection Agency EPA recommends testing your home and remediating if the Radon level is four picocuries per liter (4 pCi/L) or higher. The EPA warns that levels under four picocuries may be a risk and can be reduced.
The World Health Organization's (WHO) action level is lower. It is 100 Bq/m3, or 2.7 pCi/L. WHO recommends that homes or structures measuring higher take remedial action to lower radon levels.

If you find high indoor levels, you must have a certified professional test.
